Accordingtothegeologists’research,forabout400millionyearstheareaaroundJadeDragonSnowMountainwastheoceananditwasduringthelast600thousandyearsthatthedifferentlandscapeshadcomeintobeingbecauseoftheuprisingofthelithosphere.Archaiclegendaboutthismysteriousandbeautifulsnowmountaingoeslikethis:Onceuponatime,JadeDragonSnowMountainandHabaSnowMountainweretwins.TheyhadlivedonpanninginGoldenSandRiveruntilonedayanevilfiendusurpedtheriver.Thebrotherswereverybraveandhadafiercefightwiththefiend,HabadiedinthefightandJadeDragondroveoffthefiendafterwearingout13swords.Forguardingthepeopleandpreventingthereturnofthefiend,JadeDragonheldthe13swordsinhandsdayandnight.Astimepassed,thebrothershadturnedintothetwosnowmountains,andthe13swordshadbecomethe13peaks.JadeDragonSnowMountainisaholymountainforthelocalNaxipeoplenotonlybecauseofthelegend,butalsobecauselongtimeago,itwasaplaceforyoungloverstosacrificetheiryounglivesinhonoroftrueloveandtoescapefromthearrangedmarriagesandfeudalethics.
